The suggestions are really great! These places are definitely good for the kids to drain all their excessive energy.
Check out the family film fest that happens at the campus Gateway theater the last Saturday of each month. Bring a canned good and you are in free! Watch fun film shorts (including some award winners), classic cartoons and enjoy a mini-Shazzots concert! Lots of dancing and music! Come before the show starts to check out face painting, music and other activities set up in the lobby. Snacks and drinks (coffee, too, thank goodness) are available at the concession stand.
Studio J in Powell is a great place for kids to go they are a art and music class place but also do themed Birthday Parties. They’re worth the drive!
My oldest is 24 and my youngest is one. We’ve always used the metro park bike paths heavily with the kids. Jogging stollers when the kids are very young, kiddie trailers on our bikes (We had one trailer we wore out strapping little bikes to the back of it when the little ones tired) and things like fishing for bluegills (Love that R & R Bait store). Now we have a canoe! I think the bike paths are best used with friends who also have kids.
What about Clayspace right hear in the Brewery District?
