Join the German Village Society and COTA for a bus ride to the new Hollywood Casino | Friday, February 22
Join German Village Society and members of the Long-Range Planning Committee as we take a trip to the Hollywood Casino with Curtis Stitt, COTA President/CEO and Jamison Pack, Director of Marketing for COTA. Along the way, learn more about how easy it is to use COTA to get to and from German Village and hear what COTA is doing to better serve our neighborhood.
Stitt announced a commitment to host 100 community leaders on bus rides in 2013. The intent is to accompany local leaders on public transit on their way to work, a meeting or other activity so they can experience public transit in our community while actually using it to get to a specific destination.
“I’m calling it riding with a purpose,” Stitt said. “I’m encouraging community leaders to use COTA to travel from their home to their office or from their office to a meeting so they can see the actual utility of public transit.”
Many people, including neighborhood leaders, are not regular COTA users. However, COTA realizes that an efficient, effective and robust public transit system is critical to a growing community. By inviting GVS to experience transit first hand, COTA hopes our members will gain a better understanding of how easy it is to use COTA and the many destinations they can access on COTA.
Additionally, the Long-Range Planning Committee has been partnering with COTA to help provide better mapping to German Village from campus, the Short North and the Convention Center for visitors who might like to stroll our parks, shop our stores and dine in our restaurants!
Two options to ride:
Meet us at the corner of Sycamore and 3rd no later than 6:10 p.m. (bus will arrive at 6:18 p.m.) or if you’re already downtown, meet us at Rhodes Tower (E. Broad St and N.
