Safety Alerts

Officers at our monthly police officer lunches suggest keep alert, walk with friends, preset mobile phones to 911. These are easy tricks to have up your sleeve.  We hope you won’t need to use them, but good safety measures.   Check the Calender for monthly Civic Relations Police Lunch.

Break In On Bruck
A male in dark clothing broke into their home around 4:15am by kicking in a back door while the two residents were asleep upstairs (their home had a privacy fence in the back which the intruder climbed over) when the resident heard noise downstairs – he thought it was the family cat knocking over some items in their living room – the resident came downstairs to see what was going on – only to find a male intruder in his living room taking jewelry, car keys and his computer – the resident yelled at the intruder causing the intruder to run out the front door with the resident chasing him out of their home – the intruder ran to a waiting car and left  The resident called 911 (Columbus Police) to report the break in – Police responded – took down the information and did an investigation.
