German Village Commission
Columbus City Code Chapter 3325.01
The German Village Commission, consisting of seven (7) members, is hereby established. All members shall be appointed by the Mayor and shall serve without compensation. Council recommends that appointments to the German Village Commission be made from professions and individuals, such as, but not limited to:
one (1) member of the administrative staff of the Mayor,
one (1) designee of Council,
one (1) architect, and
two (2) persons from a list of four (4) persons recommended by the German Village Society.

D. Fill out & submit the Certificate Appropriateness Application – download »
E. You will be put on the GV Commission Agenda for their next meeting – schedule »
F. Your app may be staff approved or you may need to present it to the Commission at their meeting
E. Once your app is approved, you’ll receive a Certificate of Appropriateness in the the mail & you can proceed w/your changes. If, for some reason, your app is denied, you may resubmit it with revisions or you may appeal the decision.
The commission is made up of professionals who volunteer their time to help you make the best choices to ensure the integrity of your neighborhood and the German Village Historic District.
