Stop Exterior Placement of Gas Meters on Historic Properties!

The German Village Society is unequivocally opposed to relocation efforts by Columbia Gas of Ohio. Our objection is based on a potential adverse economic impact on the district, an anticipated negative impact on the historic character of our National Register of Historic Places listed historic district, and related safety issues due to the density and urban location of the district.

Join our Formal Complaint If you are a property owner anywhere in the German Village Historic District OR a leaseholder/renter anywhere in the German Village Historic District with an account for gas service through Columbia Gas of Ohio, we encourage you to join our formal complaint. There is no cost to you to do so. Please fill out this form and sign it, then drop it by the Meeting Haus or in the mail to 588 S. Third St.)
Write a Letter of Support: No matter where you live or work, you can support our PUCO complaint with a letter. We’ve written a sample for you to make your own. Click here.
Pick Up A Yard Sign: Yard signs are available on a first come/first serve basis at GVS offices, 588 S. 3rd St.
Amplify Our Voice: Follow us on Facebook, Twitter, Instgram and NextDoor and RESHARE so more people see our plea and join our fight.
If Columbia Gas Knocks: They are making rounds to talk with rate-payers about where to place the meter. Tell them: 1) You don’t want your gas meter on the exterior; 2) You will not sign-off on moving the meter outdoors; 3) You are represented by German Village Society, and share our contact information (614-221-8888).
