Welcome to the 2019 Village Lights
Visit the historic streets of German Village to discover a world of lights and holiday magic. Village Lights, presented by CoverMyMeds, the holiday-kickoff experience in German Village, is Sunday, December 8, from 5-9 p.m.
Follow the luminaries from shop to shop as you begin checking off your holiday gift list. Our businesses are open late with holiday specials and you’ll find festive surprises around every corner.
Kick off your shopping at StrietzelMarkt on the Platz. You’ll find vendors, ice carving, music, mulled wine and more.
Join NBC4 at 5:30 p.m. as they help greet Santa at the Actors’ Theatre Schiller Amphitheater stage! After they’re settled in, Santa will be on hand for storytelling and photos – the first 350 children will also receive a FREE holiday book!

Actor's Theatre of Columbus
Actors’ Theatre of Columbus brings Santa to read to children! Four different holiday classics will be read throughout the night and a free gift will be given to the first 350 kids 12 and under.
Rock On Ice
Live ice carving will take place at StrietzelMarkt! Stop by to pose with our ice photo frame and other holiday sculptures.
NBC4
Smile! You could be on camera. Our community partners at NBC4 are bringing down some familiar faces from the news to take part in the festivities.
Don’t miss story time with Santa Claus!
Santa Claus is set to arrive at the Actors’ Theatre Schiller Amphitheater stage in Schiller Park at 5:30 p.m.! Come and say hello, get your photo taken and enjoy story time with the jolly fella. Story times: 6:30 and 7:15 p.m.
